Hector Lopez Correction by Ms. Roberts:
In light of multiple correspondence as well as online posts I would like to correct a statement said by me- in published writing as well as verbally in a recorded interview, that Hector Lopez was an IRAQ war Veteran. He is not. Mr. Lopez instead served our country in Grenada and when I misspoke during our interview, by his own admission he never corrected me on my mistake.
Hector Lopez is an honorably discharged United States Veteran who has been deported. All other information is factual and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or confusion my mistake may have created. He has made the following statement,
“Cheri, sorry for not correcting you on that slight misunderstanding. In my willingness to get as much press coverage as possible, I didn’t want to correct you on the air. I don’t think that it makes much difference which conflict I served in, I am an Honorably Discharged Veteran of The U.S. Military and I do have it in black and white where it says that I will NOT be deported because of my prior Military Service. I am sorry for any and all inconvenience I may have caused you, and I am ready anytime you are to make it right.”
